With the High in Fat, Sugar or Salt Regulation (HFSS) being introduced fully by the Government in October 2023, we took a look at consumer reaction to the regulation and some of the areas most likely to affect their shopping experience in our HFSS Consumer Report.
Report overview
The Market Research Experts at OnePoll, wanted to understand how people that buy food and drink products on promotions such as multi-buys and extra free might react once the HFSS regulations are in place. To do this, we took a look at the thoughts and opinions of people from across the UK, looking at topics such as; living a healthy lifestyle, the impact of the HFSS regulation, the power of promotion and the plans for imposing clear rules around paid media and paid digital advertising.
With just 19% of consumers being aware of the regulation, it’s clear that whilst the food and beverage industry are relatively well informed, the consumer public are woefully behind in awareness and understanding of what it will mean for them.
The research was carried out using an only survey, across a nationally representative sample of 2,000 consumers from across the United Kingdom.
